Igloo Coolers Recalled Over Amputation Risk

Chemical Products Corporation has issued a recall for more than one million of its 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The recall was initiated due to a handle hazard where the tow handle can pinch users' fingertips, leading to injuries including amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. The United States — United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and Canada — Health Canada have both issued notices regarding the recall. Chemical Products Corporation has received 12 injury reports in the U.S., with no known injuries in Canada or Mexico. The affected coolers were sold at major retailers such as Costco, Oracle Corporation, Dick s Sporting Goods, and online through Amazon (company) between 2019 and January 2025. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Chemical Products Corporation for a free replacement handle.
