Trump Administration Removes Climate Data

The second Donald Trump administration is actively dismantling science agencies and restricting public access to climate science data and websites. This includes removing access to climate and environmental justice analysis tools, scrubbing terms like 'climate change' from government websites, and taking entire webpages offline, such as the United States — United States Department of Transportation's Climate Change Center. While datasets have not been permanently deleted, access has been severely limited. In response, organizations like Public Environmental Data Partners and Environmental Data and Governance Initiative are archiving critical climate data and tools to ensure continued public availability. The United States — Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also experienced similar data removal, which was later reversed by a federal court ruling. These actions are raising concerns about narrowing public understanding of climate change and leaving communities and economies unprepared.
