Clint Hill, JFK Secret Service Agent, Dies

Clinton Hill, the Secret Service agent renowned for his heroic actions during the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, has died at the age of 93. Hill famously leaped onto the back of John F. Kennedy's limousine in an attempt to shield the president and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis from further shots. Despite receiving commendations, Hill was deeply haunted by the event, blaming himself for not reacting quickly enough to save John F. Kennedy. This guilt led to his early retirement from the United States — United States Postal Service at age 43 due to depression and recurring memories. He later co-authored several books about his experiences and became a speaker. His death was announced by his publisher, Gallery Books, an imprint of K.K.R. — Simon & Schuster, and confirmed by his wife, Lisa McCubbin Hill. Hill's story was also an inspiration for the 1993 film 'In the Line of Fire'.
