Mount Spurr Eruption Threatens Anchorage

United States — Mount Spurr, a volcano near United States — Anchorage, Alaska, is showing new signs of unrest, with the United States — Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reporting significantly elevated volcanic gas emissions and an increased likelihood of eruption in the coming weeks or months. While further warnings are expected, an eruption could occur with little notice, posing hazards to recreators and overflying aircraft.
