Aldi Cheese Recalled for Metal

Aldi has recalled thousands of pouches of Happy Farms Colby Jack shredded cheese across United States — Connecticut, United States — Michigan, United States — Ohio, and United States — Pennsylvania due to potential stainless steel fragments. The recall was voluntarily initiated by Great Lakes Cheese Company on February 15, 2025, and later classified as a Class II recall by the United States — Food and Drug Administration on March 19. Consumers are advised not to consume the affected cheese and to return it for a full refund. This is the second recall for Great Lakes Cheese Company this year, following a market withdrawal of Our Family American Cheese Slices due to a flavor discrepancy. Aldi also recalled Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos in January for metal contamination.
