Yeva Smilianska Convicted in Magnus White Death

Yeva Smilianska, 24, was convicted of reckless vehicular homicide for fatally striking 17-year-old USA Cycling junior cyclist Magnus White on Colo. 119 in July 2023. The trial, held in United States — Mesa County, Colorado, revealed that Smilianska had been driving while exhausted after staying up late drinking. Witnesses testified that she veered onto the shoulder multiple times before hitting Magnus White, who was training for the U.S. national team.
