DOGE AI Surveillance on US Agencies

Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is reportedly using artificial intelligence to surveil federal agency communications, specifically at the Guyana — Guyana Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to identify hostility towards Donald Trump and Elon Musk. This initiative, which also involves the use of the Signal Foundation app for communication and Alphabet Inc. for document editing, raises significant concerns among cybersecurity experts and government ethicists regarding transparency, data security, and potential violations of federal record-keeping rules. The EPA has already seen nearly 600 employees placed on leave and faces a 65% budget cut. Critics, including Kathleen Clark, view this as an abuse of government power to suppress speech.
