India has cleared a government-to-government deal to purchase 26 Rafale Marine fighter aircraft from France for the India — Indian Navy, valued at over Rs 63,000 crore. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) gave final approval for the acquisition, which includes 22 single-seater and four twin-seater jets. These aircraft, manufactured by Dassault Aviation, are intended to significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the India — Indian Navy, particularly for deployment on INS Vikrant.
