Mondelez Recalls Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers

Mondelez International, the creator of Ritz crackers, initiated a voluntary recall of several carton sizes of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Filled Cracker Sandwich Variety Pack cartons. The recall was prompted by a mislabeling error where individually wrapped packs of peanut butter crackers were incorrectly labeled as cheese variety. This poses a serious risk for individuals with peanut allergies, potentially causing life-threatening allergic reactions. The affected products were manufactured in the United States and distributed nationwide. The United States — Food and Drug Administration has issued an alert, advising consumers with peanut allergies to discard the recalled products. Mondelez International stated that the issue was due to a supplier error in film packaging rolls and that corrective actions are being taken. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
