25 Nations Demand Gaza War End

Twenty-five countries, including United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and Canada, issued a joint statement on Monday calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza. The statement condemned Israel's aid delivery model, describing it as dangerous and inhumane, and highlighted the suffering of civilians. It also criticized Israel's denial of essential humanitarian assistance and urged compliance with international humanitarian law. Notably, United States and Germany did not sign the statement, with United States Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee calling it 'disgusting' and blaming Hamas for prolonging the war. Germany's foreign minister, Johann Wadephul, expressed concern about the humanitarian situation to Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa ar. Israel's Foreign Ministry rejected the statement, accusing Hamas of prolonging the war by refusing ceasefire proposals. The conflict, triggered by Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, has led to over 59,000 Palestinian deaths and an International Criminal Court arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Despite ongoing ceasefire talks, no breakthrough has been achieved, and Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue military operations until Hamas is defeated.
