This recall was announced by the United States — United States Consumer Product Safety Commission following 26 reported incidents, which include smoking, sparking, burning, melting, overheating, and catching fire. These incidents have resulted in over $700,000 in property damage and two smoke inhalation injuries. The affected mini fridges were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart and Amazon (company) from January 2020 through December 2023, priced between $36 and $40. Consumers are advised to immediately unplug and stop using the recalled units, cut the power cord, mark them as 'Recall', and dispose of them according to local regulations.
