The recall by High Noon due to mislabeled products could lead to a temporary decline in consumer trust and sales for High Noon and potentially a minor impact on Celsius Holdings' brand perception. The event highlights supply chain vulnerabilities for beverage companies.
High Noon has issued a recall for two production lots of its Beach Variety 12-packs of vodka seltzer. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that some cans within these packs were mislabeled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition, but actually contained High Noon's alcoholic seltzer. This error occurred because a shared third-party packaging supplier mistakenly shipped empty Celsius Holdings cans to High Noon's production facility, where they were then filled with alcohol. The affected products were distributed to several states including Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin. No illnesses or adverse events have been reported. High Noon and Celsius Holdings, along with Gallo (winery), are working to ensure consumer awareness and safety, advising consumers to dispose of the affected cans and contact High Noon for refunds. The United States — Food and Drug Administration has also announced the recall.
