The IPO of JSW Group is expected to bring fresh capital into the cement sector, potentially increasing competition for existing players like UltraTech Cement and Shree Cement. The funds raised will enable JSW Group to expand its capacity and reduce debt, which could improve its financial health and market position.

JSW Group, a part of the JSW Group, is launching its initial public offering (IPO) to raise Rs 3,600 crore. The IPO, which opens on August 7 and closes on August 11, includes a fresh issue of Rs 1,600 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) of Rs 2,000 crore by existing shareholders such as Apollo Global Management, Synergy Metals Investments Holding, and State Bank of India. The company plans to use Rs 800 crore from the fresh issue to finance a new integrated cement facility in Nagaur, India — Rajasthan, and Rs 520 crore to repay outstanding loans. JSW Group, which had an installed grinding capacity of 20.6 MMTPA as of March 2025, aims to significantly increase its capacity. The IPO faced a regulatory hold from India — Securities and Exchange Board of India in September 2024 but received approval in January 2025. The shares will be listed on BSE and National Stock Exchange of India.
