Ryobi Pressure Washer Recall

Techtronic Industries — TTI Outdoor Power Equipment, a subsidiary of Techtronic Industries, is recalling approximately 780,000 Ryobi-branded electric pressure washers in the United States and Canada. The recall was initiated due to a projectile hazard caused by the product's capacitor overheating and bursting, which has led to 135 reports of overheating, 41 explosions, and 32 injuries including fractures to fingers, hands, face, and eyes. The United States — United States Consumer Product Safety Commission published the recall notice, urging consumers to stop using the affected models (RY142300 and RY142711VNM) immediately and obtain a free repair kit. The products were sold at retailers such as Home Depot and Direct Tools Factory Outlet between July 2017 and June 2024. Canada — Health Canada also issued a corresponding notice, though no additional incidents were reported in Canada.
