Joe Seiders Arrested on Child Pornography

Joe Seiders, the 44-year-old drummer for the indie rock band The New Pornographers, was arrested on April 9 in Palm Desert, California, on child pornography charges. The arrest followed two incidents at a Chick-fil-A restaurant: on April 7, an 11-year-old boy reported that a man, later identified as Joe Seiders, recorded him in the restroom; two days later, police received a report of a man entering and exiting the restroom with juvenile males. The United States — Utah County, Utah investigated, arrested Joe Seiders, and executed search warrants on his home, vehicle, and phone, uncovering evidence of child pornography and additional crimes including annoying/molesting a child, invasion of privacy, and attempted invasion of privacy. Joe Seiders is being held on $1 million bail and is due in court on April 22.
