Nishikant Dubey Attacks S.Y. Quraishi

India — Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey launched a series of controversial attacks, first targeting the India — Supreme Court of India and Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, accusing them of inciting 'religious wars' and judicial overreach, particularly concerning the Waqf Act. A day later, he attacked former Chief Election Commissioner S. Y. Quraishi, calling him a 'Muslim commissioner' in response to Quraishi's criticism of the Waqf Act as a 'sinister and evil plan of the government to grab Muslim lands'. Dubey's remarks, which included historical references and accusations of facilitating Bangladeshi infiltrators as voters during Quraishi's tenure, drew strong criticism from opposition parties. The India — Bharatiya Janata Party, through its president Jagad Prakash Nadda, officially distanced itself from Dubey's statements, clarifying they were his personal views and reaffirming the party's commitment to judicial independence.
