India Suspends Pakistan Visa Services

The suspension of visas by India for Pakistani nationals will negatively impact the tourism and healthcare sectors in India, as fewer Pakistani visitors will be able to travel. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 tourists and for which The Resistance Front (linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba) claimed responsibility, India has taken stringent measures against Pakistan. The India — Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Narendra Modi, decided to suspend all visa services for Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked from April 27, 2025, with medical visas valid only until April 29, 2025. Pakistani nationals currently in India are directed to leave before their amended visa expiry dates. Concurrently, Indian citizens are advised to avoid travel to Pakistan, and those already there are urged to return. The India — Ministry of External Affairs has also initiated a diplomatic outreach, summoning ambassadors from Germany, Japan, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Russia to brief them on the terror strike and build international pressure on Pakistan.
