Menendez Brothers' Sentences Reduced

The decision follows a motion for resentencing initiated by former Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, citing new evidence and a modern understanding of sexual abuse. Current District Attorney Nathan Hochman opposed the resentencing, arguing the brothers had not fully accepted responsibility. The United States — California parole board and Governor Gavin Newsom will now decide on their potential release, with parole hearings scheduled for June 13.
