India has vehemently denied these accusations, leading to a diplomatic standoff that included the expulsion of diplomats by both nations. While Canada's new Prime Minister Mark Carney and Foreign Minister Anita Anand have expressed interest in rebuilding ties, India remains cautious, citing security concerns and the need for Canada to address extremist elements.
