Indian National Congress Expels Laxman Singh

Laxman Singh, a former MLA and MP, has been expelled from the primary membership of the India — Indian National Congress for six years due to 'anti-party activities'. The expulsion, announced by Tariq Anwar of the party's Disciplinary Action Committee, follows repeated derogatory remarks made by Laxman Singh against senior party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra. These remarks, particularly those made after the Pahalgam terror attack, were deemed to have caused serious damage to the party's image and dignity. The MP Pradesh Congress Committee had recommended action against Laxman Singh, who is the brother of senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. Laxman Singh has a history of switching parties, having joined the India — Bharatiya Janata Party in 2004 before returning to the India — Indian National Congress in 2013.
