Eric Dane Diagnosed with ALS

Actor Eric Dane, known for his roles in 'Grey's Anatomy' and Euphoria (American TV series), revealed his diagnosis with ALS (ALS) in April after nine months of testing. He shared in an emotional interview on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer that he has lost function in his right arm and is experiencing weakness in his left arm and legs. Dane recounted first noticing symptoms a year and a half ago and described the diagnosis as 'sobering,' stating he will 'never forget those three letters.' ALS is a fatal, progressive neurodegenerative disease with no known cure, leading to muscle weakening and eventual paralysis. Despite the severe prognosis, Eric Dane expressed his determination to fight the disease and continue working, with upcoming roles in Euphoria (American TV series) Season 3 and Amazon (company)'s 'Countdown.' He also spoke about the support from his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, and his anger over the possibility of being taken from his daughters at a young age, similar to his own experience of losing his father to suicide. He is participating in research studies and taking medication under the care of Dr. Merit Cudkowicz at Massachusetts General Hospital.
