FreshRealm Chicken Alfredo Listeria Recall

FreshRealm has issued a voluntary recall of its ready-to-eat chicken fettuccine Alfredo products sold at Kroger and Walmart stores nationwide. This recall is due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, which has been linked to an outbreak that has sickened 17 people, caused 16 hospitalizations, three deaths, and one pregnancy loss across 13 states between August 2024 and May 2025. The United States — United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), United States — Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States — Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are investigating the outbreak and the source of contamination. Although a contaminated lot was destroyed and never entered commerce, FreshRealm issued the recall out of an abundance of caution. Consumers are urged to discard or return the recalled products, which include specific Marketside and Home Chef brand items with certain best-by dates and establishment numbers.
