British Woman Michele Bourda Found Dead in Greece

Michele Bourda, a 59-year-old British woman, disappeared from Ofrynio beach in Kavala, Greece on August 1 while her husband, Chris Bourda, slept. Her belongings were left behind. Chris Bourda reported her missing, but criticized the Greece — Hellenic Police for their slow response, claiming they took hours to begin a search and did not deploy boats until the next day. Michele Bourda, who suffered from depression and anxiety, was found dead over a month later on Fidonisi island, 40km from where she vanished. Her body was reportedly found half-naked, partially eaten by fish, and without a head. Chris Bourda has expressed devastation and intends to press charges against local authorities for their handling of the case, also lodging a complaint with the United Kingdom — British Embassy, Athens.
