This expansion brings the total number of airports covered to 13, with plans to reach 21 major airports across India. The program, modeled on the United States' Global Entry Program, aims to provide seamless and secure immigration clearance for pre-verified Indian citizens and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders through automated e-gates. Since its initial launch at India — Indira Gandhi International Airport in July 2024, 3 lakh people have registered, and 2.65 lakh have already utilized the facility, experiencing immigration clearance in approximately 30 seconds. The Philippines — Bureau of Immigration acts as the nodal agency, verifying applicants and adding them to a 'White List' of trusted travelers. The initiative aligns with Narendra Modi's vision for enhanced traveler convenience and national security.
