Noida International Airport Inauguration Set

The Noida International Airport (NIA), a new greenfield aviation hub in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, is set to begin operations by the end of 2025. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu announced the inauguration for October 30, with commercial flights expected to commence within 45 days. India — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also confirmed the timeline. The airport, developed under a public-private partnership model with Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (a subsidiary of Switzerland — Zurich Airport International) as the concessionaire, will become India's largest airport upon full development by 2050, capable of handling 70 million passengers annually. Phase 1, nearing completion, includes one runway and one passenger terminal with a capacity for 12 million passengers per year. The India — Directorate General of Civil Aviation (India) is expected to issue the aerodrome license after the India — Bureau of Civil Aviation Security granted airside security clearance. IndiGo has been named the launch carrier, and Akasa Air will operate both domestic and international flights. The airport will also feature a multi-modal cargo terminal developed in partnership with Air India SATS Airport Services and an MRO facility, aiming to become a comprehensive aviation hub. The project is expected to generate significant employment and economic growth in India — Uttar Pradesh and the broader National Capital Region.
