Rahul Gandhi Accuses ECI of Voter Fraud

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, has launched a scathing attack on the India — Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Election Commissioner Bhuvneshwar Kumar, accusing them of protecting individuals involved in systematic voter deletion and fraud. Gandhi presented what he claims is 'solid proof' of irregularities in voter rolls, citing examples from India — Karnataka's Aland and Mahadevapura constituencies, and Maharashtra's Rajura constituency. He alleged that millions of votes, particularly from Opposition-supporting communities like Dalits, Adivasis, minorities, and OBCs, have been systematically targeted for deletion using automated software and mobile numbers from outside the respective states. The India — Karnataka India — Criminal Investigation Department (disambiguation) (CID) is investigating these claims and has sent 18 letters to the ECI over 18 months, requesting crucial information such as destination IP addresses, device destination ports, and OTP trails, which the ECI has allegedly withheld. Gandhi claims this withholding of information proves Bhuvneshwar Kumar is protecting 'vote chors' and 'destroyers of democracy'. The India — Election Commission of India has dismissed these allegations as 'incorrect and baseless', stating that no deletion can occur online or without due process and an opportunity for the affected person to be heard. An FIR was filed by the ECI itself in 2023 regarding unsuccessful deletion attempts in Aland. Gandhi has given the ECI one week to provide the requested information to the India — Karnataka CID, warning that failure to do so will lead India's youth to believe the CEC is siding with 'vote thieves'.
