This event marks India's entry into an exclusive group of nations, including Denmark, Sweden, South Korea, and China, that manufacture their own telecom equipment. The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide, empower rural communities, and connect over two crore people nationwide, including 30,000 previously unconnected villages. The new cloud-based 'swadeshi' 4G stack is designed to be future-ready and seamlessly upgradable to 5G. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized India's transition from a service nation to a producer and innovation hub, aligning with the vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'. The commissioned towers are solar-powered, making them India's largest cluster of green telecom sites.
