Haryana DGP Sent on Leave

The India — Haryana government has sent its Director General of Police, Shatrujeet Kapur, on leave and transferred Rohtak Superintendent of Police, Narendra Bijarniya, following mounting pressure over the alleged suicide of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar. Kumar, in a 'final note,' accused Kapur and Bijarniya, among others, of caste-based discrimination and harassment. Y. Puran Kumar's wife, Amneet P Kumar, a senior IAS officer, has demanded that both officers be named in the FIR and arrested, refusing post-mortem and cremation until her demands are met.
