Jaisalmer-Jodhpur Bus Fire Kills 20

A private bus traveling from India — Jaisalmer to India — Jodhpur caught fire on October 14, 2025, resulting in 20 fatalities and 16 critical injuries. The bus, carrying 57 passengers, departed from India — Jaisalmer around 3 pm when smoke was noticed from the rear, suspected to be caused by a short circuit. The driver stopped the bus, but flames rapidly engulfed the vehicle. Local residents, passers-by, and Army personnel assisted in rescue efforts. The injured were taken to Jawahar Hospital in India — Jaisalmer, with critical patients referred to India — Jodhpur. Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the site and issued instructions for relief. Narendra Modi and Droupadi Murmu expressed grief, with Narendra Modi announcing financial relief from the Prime Minister s National Relief Fund for the victims' families. Other leaders, including Ashok Gehlot, Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade, and Madan Rathore, also offered condolences.
