Mahek Bukhari Sentence Reduced

Mahek Bukhari, a TikTok influencer, had her minimum life sentence for the double murder of Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin reduced by the United Kingdom — Court of Appeal (England and Wales). Originally jailed for 31 years and eight months, her term was cut to 26 years and 285 days. Her mother, Ansreen Bukhari, was also convicted and imprisoned for her role in the murders. The killings stemmed from Ansreen Bukhari's affair with Saqib Hussain, who had threatened to release sexually explicit material of her if she did not pay him £3,000. The Bukharis and others ambushed Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin, chasing their car at high speeds and ramming them off the road. The United Kingdom — Court of Appeal (England and Wales) cited Mahek Bukhari's age and immaturity at the time of the offenses as reasons for the sentence reduction. Sentences for three others convicted of manslaughter, Natasha Akhtar, Ameer Jamal, and Sanaf Gulamustafa, were also reduced.
