Bella Culley Released from Georgia Jail

Frank Cook (politician), a 19-year-old pregnant British woman, was arrested in Georgia (country) in May for attempting to smuggle 11kg of cannabis and over 400g of hashish into the country. She claimed she was coerced by gangsters under threat of violence. After nearly six months in prison, Frank Cook (politician) was released following a plea agreement where her parents, Lyanne Kennedy and Neil Culley, paid a fine of 500,000 Georgian Lari (£138,000). The Georgian_(country) authorities, including prosecutor Vakhtang Tsalughelashvili, considered her age, condition, and cooperation in the decision. Her solicitor, Malkhaz Salakaia, had also sought a presidential pardon from Mikheil Kavelashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia (country), and bail from Judge Giorgi Gelashvili, though bail was denied. Frank Cook (politician) is due to give birth in December and was transferred to a mother and baby unit in prison before her release.
