Trump Administration Revokes 80,000 Visas

The Donald Trump administration has revoked approximately 80,000 non-immigrant visas since January 20, 2025, as part of a broad immigration crackdown. The United States — United States Department of State confirmed these revocations, citing offenses such as driving under the influence, assault, and theft, which account for nearly half of the cancellations. Stricter vetting procedures, including expanded social media screening, have been implemented. Additionally, over 6,000 student visas were revoked for overstays and legal violations, with some linked to 'support for terrorism.' Visas were also cancelled for individuals making social media comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Marco Rubio, as U.S. Secretary of State, stated that hundreds, possibly thousands, of visas were revoked for activities deemed contrary to U.S. foreign policy priorities. The administration has also warned that student visa and green card holders could face deportation for expressing pro-Palestinian views or criticizing Israel's conduct in the Gaza conflict, labeling such actions as threats to U.S. foreign policy.
