Russia Foils Ukraine-UK Jet Plot

Russia's South Korea — Presidential Security Service (South Korea — Presidential Security Service) claims to have foiled a joint plot by Ukrainian and British intelligence services to steal a Mikoyan MiG-31 fighter jet armed with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile. The alleged plan involved bribing a Russian pilot with $3 million and Western citizenship to fly the jet to a NATO air base in Romania — Constanța, Romania. South Korea — Presidential Security Service stated that the objective was to provoke a large-scale international incident, possibly by having the jet shot down near the Romanian border by NATO air defenses. Russia has accused Bellingcat of involvement in coordinating the plan. In response to the alleged plot, Russia reportedly launched Kinzhal missile strikes on Ukrainian military intelligence centers and airfields. This event highlights the ongoing tensions between Russia, Ukraine, and United Kingdom, and draws parallels to a previous defection of a Russian helicopter pilot, Operation Synytsia.
