Paul Costelloe, Princess Diana's Designer, Dies

Paul Costelloe Collections, the Irish-American fashion designer celebrated for dressing Princess Diana and establishing his eponymous label, Paul Costelloe Collections, has died at the age of 80 in London after a short illness. Born in Dublin in 1945, Paul Costelloe Collections began his career at the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris and worked for various fashion houses, including Jacques Esterel, Marks & Spencer, La Rinascente, and Anne Fogarty, before founding Paul Costelloe Collections in 1979. He was appointed personal designer to Princess Diana in 1983, a role he held until her death in 1997, significantly shaping her early style. Paul Costelloe Collections's brand expanded into a global lifestyle house, offering womenswear, menswear, accessories, and homeware, and he also designed corporate wear for companies like International Airlines Group — British Airways and Delta Air Lines. He continued to lead the design team for Paul Costelloe Collections until his passing.
