Sumatra Flash Floods, Landslides Kill 10

Torrential monsoon rains have caused severe flash floods and landslides across Indonesia — Sumatra, Indonesia, resulting in at least 10 deaths and six missing persons. The disaster has affected six regencies in Indonesia — North Sumatra province, with Indonesia — Sibolga being one of the worst-hit cities. Landslides flattened 17 houses and a cafe, and floods submerged nearly 2,000 houses and buildings in Indonesia — Central Tapanuli. Rescue efforts are hampered by bad weather and limited access. This event occurred on the same day the Indonesia — National Disaster Management Agency ended relief operations in Java, where earlier storms killed 38 people and left 13 missing.
