US-Russian Crew Launches to ISS

A U.S.-Russian crew of three, including United States — NASA astronaut Chris Williamson and Russia — Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Mikaev and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, successfully launched to the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft. The launch took place from the Russia-leased Kazakhstan — Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The spacecraft docked with the International Space Station approximately three hours after liftoff. The crew is expected to spend about eight months at the orbiting outpost, with Chris Williamson focusing on scientific research and technology demonstrations aimed at advancing human space exploration and benefiting life on Earth. This mission marks the first spaceflight for Chris Williamson and Sergei Mikaev, and the second for Sergey Kud-Sverchkov. They will join an existing crew of United States — NASA, Japan — JAXA, and Russia — Roscosmos astronauts and cosmonauts.
