The increasing adoption of AI tools by parents for various aspects of family life, as revealed by the OnePoll study, suggests a growing market for AI-powered consumer applications. This trend could positively impact companies like Microsoft and ChatGPT, as well as other AI developers, by expanding their user base and demonstrating practical applications of their technology in everyday life.
A new study conducted by OnePoll for SWNS Media Group reveals that parents are increasingly using artificial intelligence for parenting advice. Approximately three in ten parents with children under 18 have used AI for guidance, with an additional 33% considering it. AI is primarily used for homework assistance (45%), finding age-appropriate entertainment (39%), and discussing challenging topics like bullying or grief (40%). Parents also find AI useful for explaining complex subjects (39%), establishing routines (38%), and planning meals (35%). Harry Gove of OnePoll emphasized that while AI can be a quick fix, reliance should extend only to background research, with professionals consulted when necessary. The study also highlighted that more progress is needed in educational settings regarding AI acceptance, as only 29% of children show curiosity towards AI.
