King Charles III strips Prince Andrew titles

King Charles III has officially stripped his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, of his prestigious Order of the Garter and Royal Victorian Order honours. Charles III directed that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's titles should be 'cancelled and annulled' and his name 'erased' from the historic orders' registers. This follows previous actions where Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his birthright to be a prince and an HRH, and had his Duke of York title removed due to his 'serious lapses of judgment' over his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has faced allegations of sexually assaulting Virginia Giuffre, who was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, and paid millions to Virginia Giuffre to settle a civil sexual assault claim in 2022. He stepped down from royal duties in 2019, but recent events, including the publication of Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoirs and the release of documents from Jeffrey Epstein's estate, have brought renewed focus on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. He is also set to move from Royal Lodge to Charles III's private Sandringham estate.
