Former Florissant Officer Julian Alcala Pleads Guilty

Former United States — Florissant, Missouri police officer Julian Alcala pleaded guilty to 20 counts of willfully depriving women of their right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure. Between February and May 2024, Julian Alcala pulled over 20 women's vehicles and illegally searched their phones for nude photos and videos during traffic stops, often under the pretense of confirming insurance or registration. He was caught after the first victim discovered a sexually explicit video sent from her phone to an unknown number, which the United States — Federal Bureau of Investigation traced back to Julian Alcala. In a plea deal with federal prosecutors from the United States — United States Department of Justice, a felony obstruction count was dropped in exchange for his guilty plea. Julian Alcala is awaiting sentencing on March 11, 2026.
