Siena Lacrosse Coach Liam Gleason Dies

Liam Gleason, the highly respected men's lacrosse coach at Siena University (New York), died at the age of 41 after sustaining a traumatic brain injury from a fall at his home. Gleason, who had just celebrated his 41st birthday, was a prominent figure in the Capital Region's lacrosse scene, having played for and coached at both Siena University (New York) and University at Albany. He led Siena University (New York) to a MAAC championship and an NCAA Tournament berth in his seventh season as head coach. His death has deeply saddened the Siena University (New York) community, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, former players, and rivals. An honor walk was held at Albany Medical Center as Liam Gleason was wheeled into surgery for organ donation. A GoFundMe page has been established to support his wife, Jaclyn, and their three children, Kennedy, Penn, and Tate, raising over $500,000. Funeral services will be held on the Siena University (New York) campus.
