India — Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is launching the 'One District, One Cuisine' (ODOC) initiative and expanding its successful 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) scheme to ODOP 2.0. The ODOC initiative aims to give each district a unified identity for its distinctive culinary heritage, focusing on improving quality, hygiene, packaging, branding, and marketing of local dishes. ODOP 2.0 seeks to further boost local industries, self-employment, and exports by adapting to evolving global markets, consumer expectations, and technological advancements. Since its launch in 2018, the ODOP initiative has distributed over 1.25 lakh toolkits, sanctioned loans exceeding ₹6,000 crore, and supported over 8,000 entrepreneurs. It has also approved 30 Common Facility Centers and granted Geo tags to 44 products, with ODOP products now accounting for over 50% of India — Uttar Pradesh's total exports and being sold on leading e-commerce platforms. The new phase will prioritize successful entrepreneurs, strengthen products across technology, packaging, quality, and market reach, and integrate them into major retail chains and Unity Malls.
