Indian Railways Augments Services Amid IndiGo Cancellations

Following widespread flight cancellations by IndiGo, India — Indian Railways has taken extensive measures to manage the surge in passenger demand. A total of 37 trains have been augmented with 116 additional coaches, operating over 114 augmented trips across the country. India — Southern Railway zone led these efforts, enhancing capacity in 18 trains. India — Western Railway zone, India — Western Railway zone, East Central Railway zone, East Coast Railway zone, India — Western Railway zone, and India — Northeast Frontier Railway zone also implemented significant augmentations. Additionally, India — Indian Railways is operating four special train services to further support passengers, including routes connecting Gorakhpur, Anand Vihar Terminal, New Delhi, Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, Mumbai Central, Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Thiruvananthapuram Central. These actions aim to ensure smooth travel and adequate accommodation for affected passengers.
