Allison Hooker Visits India for Strategic Partnership

Allison Hooker, the United States' Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, is undertaking a five-day visit to India from December 7 to 11. Her visit aims to advance the US-India strategic partnership, deepen economic and commercial ties, including increasing American exports, and foster collaboration in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and space exploration. In New Delhi, Allison Hooker will meet with senior Indian officials, including Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific. In Bengaluru, she will visit the India — ISRO and engage with leaders from India's space, energy, and technology sectors to promote innovation and explore expanded cooperation. The visit also highlights the commitment of both India and the United States to counter-terrorism efforts, as they recently condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and called for additional designations of groups like Islamic State, Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Jaish-e-Mohammed under the United Nations 1267 sanctions regime.
