The Chinese Embassy in India is set to launch an online visa application system on December 22, 2025, making it easier for Indian citizens to apply for visas to China. Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, announced the online system, which will allow applicants to fill out forms and upload materials digitally. The India — Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed that tourist and business visas for Chinese nationals are now fully functional. These measures are part of broader 'people-centric' confidence-building initiatives agreed upon by China and India in 2025, which also included the resumption of direct commercial flights and the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra pilgrimage. The move is anticipated to boost tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
