The significant increase in India's gem and jewellery exports in November 2025, particularly in cut and polished diamonds and studded gold jewellery, indicates a positive trend for the industry. This growth, supported by strong demand from the United States and China, suggests a potential boost for related companies and the overall Indian economy, despite flat cumulative growth for April-November.

Gems and Jewellery Luxury Goods

India's gem and jewellery exports surged by 19% in November 2025, reaching $2.52 billion, primarily due to increased shipments of cut and polished diamonds, gold, silver, and platinum jewellery. This growth is attributed to a low base in November 2024 due to Diwali holidays and strong Christmas demand from the United States and China. While November showed robust growth, cumulative exports for the April-November period remained largely flat at $18.86 billion. The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported a 38% surge in cut and polished diamond exports and a 49.24% rise in studded gold jewellery exports for November. The India — Maharashtra government also launched a new Gems and Jewellery Policy 2025 with substantial investment and job creation goals, aiming to further support the sector's growth.

Colin Shah, Managing Director of Kama Jewelry, commented on the data, attributing the November uptick to seasonal international demand and domestic wedding consumption.
