Archaeologists in Turkey have discovered a rare 3rd-century fresco depicting Jesus as the 'Good Shepherd' with Roman features, near Iznik. This artwork, found in an underground burial chamber, is considered one of the most significant early Christian finds in Anatolia. The discovery coincides with a visit by Pope Leo XVI to Iznik, where he commemorated the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea.
