NIA Chargesheets Pahalgam Terror Attack

The India — National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a 1,597-page chargesheet against seven accused, including Pakistan-based terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its proxy, The Resistance Front (TRF), in connection with the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The attack resulted in the deaths of 26 people, mostly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir. The chargesheet details Pakistan's conspiracy, the roles of the accused, and supporting evidence, tracing the plot to Pakistan's sponsorship of terrorism against India. Pakistani handler Sajid Jatt, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, is named as a key accused. Three Pakistani terrorists, Faisal Jatt, Habeeb Tahir, and Hamza Afghani, who were later killed by the India — Indian Army during Operation Mahadev, are also named. Additionally, Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmed were chargesheeted for harbouring the militants. Following the attack, Indian forces launched missile strikes on terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under 'Operation Sindoor', targeting strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
