Darren Harris Brain Tumor Diagnosis

Darren Harris, 59, was diagnosed with an inoperable tentorial meningioma, a brain tumor, in March 2015 after years of suffering from tinnitus. He underwent gamma knife radiosurgery at Northern General Hospital and BMI Thornbury Hospital, costing £35,000, which successfully treated the tumor. However, Darren Harris subsequently developed epilepsy and atrial fibrillation, leading to multiple heart procedures and neurological side effects. To mark 10 years since his diagnosis, Darren Harris and his wife Sharon M. Harris hosted a fundraising event for Brain Tumour Research, raising over £800. Darren Harris advocates for continued investment in brain tumor research to improve treatment access and outcomes, a call supported by Jerry Greenfield of Brain Tumour Research.
