HCLTech announced the acquisition of Hewlett-Packard's Telco Solutions Business for up to $160 million, including performance-based incentives. This all-cash deal, structured as an asset carve-out, is expected to close in approximately six months, pending regulatory approvals including from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. The acquisition will significantly strengthen HCLTech's engineering and AI-led network offerings for global Communication Service Providers (CSPs), building on a previous transaction in 2024 where HCLTech acquired certain assets from Hewlett-Packard's Communications Technology Group. As part of the agreement, nearly 1,500 engineering and telecom specialists from 39 countries, including India, France, Japan, and Italy, will join HCLTech's global delivery team. This move will enhance HCLTech's intellectual property, product engineering, R&D talent, and client relationships, enabling it to accelerate 5G network transformation, network cloudification, Network as a Service (NaaS), and AI-led autonomous networking.
