Sony has acquired an additional 41% stake in Peanuts Holdings LLC from WildBrain for $457 million, bringing Sony's total ownership to 80%. The Schulz family will retain the remaining 20%. This deal consolidates Sony's control over the iconic 'Peanuts' comic strip and its characters, including Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Sony Music Entertainment President Shunsuke Muramatsu stated that this increased ownership will allow Sony to leverage its global network and expertise to further enhance the 'Peanuts' brand. Sony had previously acquired a 39% stake in Peanuts Holdings in 2018. WildBrain, a Canadian company, will no longer have an ownership stake in Peanuts Holdings.
